Royce and Jane Reynolds Program in
Church Leadership
The Royce and Jane Reynolds Program in Church Leadership is a year-long leadership development program for United Methodist clergy committed to making disciples for Jesus Christ. A joint program of the United Methodist Foundation of Western North Carolina, Inc. and the Center for Creative Leadership, a nonprofit organization based in Greensboro, NC, this annual certificate program brings together 24 pastors from the Carolinas, Florida and Virginia. Through program content focused on leading a mission-focused congregation, a comprehensive feedback process that assesses leadership strengths and needs and support from peers and a personal executive coach, participants develop greater capacity for effective congregational ministry.
Program Schedule for 2012-2013
August 20-23, 2012 – Foundations for Leadership: "Who Are You?”
November 5-8, 2012 – Developing a Vision: "Who Is Your Congregation?”
February 4-7, 2013 – Working the Plan: “How Do We Work Together?”
May 6-8, 2013 – Mobilizing for Mission: “Where Do We Go From Here?”
Program Eligibility
Qualified applicants must be United Methodist pastors-in-charge from the Virginia, Western North Carolina, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida Conferences with five years of full-time church experience (beyond educational requirements) and who anticipate being in their current appointment through 2012. Applicants must be committed to attending each of the mandatory sessions in their entirety, completing reading and writing assignments between residency sessions and participating in follow-up evaluations at the conclusion of the program.
