Reynolds Leadership Academy on Evangelism and Discipleship
The Reynolds Leadership Academy on Evangelism and Discipleship is funded by the Reynolds family through the Royce and Jane Reynolds Fund. The first Academy class began on January 1, 2006 with a pilot program consisting of 25 pastors from across the Western NC Conference. The two-year program focuses on reading, sharing books and materials from effective pastors, visiting effective congregations, hearing presentations from visiting pastors, and sharing among the group participants. In February 2012 the program will begin its fourth two-year session.
The mission of the Reynolds Leadership Academy on Evangelism and Discipleship is to develop leadership gifts in our clergy and to equip them to lead their congregations to intentionally reach un-churched people and nurture them into mature disciples for Jesus Christ. This is a group of pastors who will covenant with each other and their families and seek to receive congregational commitment to support their pastor in this endeavor. Over the two-year period the group will meet at least three times a year to share measurable results of their participation through reading assignments, prayer, collegiality, travel and accountability within the group. .
Participants are chosen for a two-year session by members of the Royce and Jane Reynolds Leadership Fund Team based on their interest and potential for reaching the un-churched and growing new disciples for Christ.
