A Word From The President
Hello! Welcome to the newly-designed and more user-friendly website of the United Methodist Foundation of Western North Carolina, Inc. We are glad you are here. Throughout this website we hope you will see our resounding commitment to be a ministry of the church and for the church in western North Carolina. Our mission, plainly and simply, is to promote the sharing of God’s resources through faithful, financial partnerships. Since 1985 we have been an active ministry of The Western North Carolina Conference and offer the following ministries:
- Endowment Development in adherence with the United Methodist Book of Discipline
- Planned Giving education for churches and assistance for individuals in establishing charitable trusts, bequests, donor advised funds, charitable gift annuities
- Fund Management in socially responsible ways which offer competitive returns at competitively low rates
- Development Fund used to fund our loan program is an attractive alternative to certificate of deposits and money market funds
- Loan Program rates below WSJ Prime help churches be better stewards
- Stewardship Education is offered to churches, districts and the conference as a whole through out the year
- Permanently Restricted Endowment Services are at the heart of what we do.Through grants we are able to give back as we have been given to
- Leadership Development through the Royce and Jane Reynolds Program in Church Leadership in conjunction with WNC conference wide initiative
The Foundation’s board, staff and I believe it is an honor and a privilege to be in ministry with our United Methodist sisters and brothers. We view the work of the Foundation to be more of a calling. Therefore, we view every encounter with a church, related institution or individual to be an opportunity to look at how God brings God’s people together for the betterment of His kingdom.
